How is success predicted? Does it depend upon a person’s intelligence? Perhaps it is who they know. What about how hard they work? These things can be part of a success strategy, but they do not necessarily equal achievement.
Like any other skill success can be learned. You can prepare yourself by consistently applying these “secrets” of success to your actions every day. They will become habits and lead you to triumph in your goals.

How you think can be more important that what you think. Always be positive. Think about attaining your goals, not falling short of them. Become aware of how your environment affects you.
If there is one phrase that should be stricken from your vocabulary it is “I can’t.” As soon as you say “I can’t,” then you won’t.
I am not saying that you won’t feel discouraged from time to time, but it is best to get rid of a bad attitude as soon as you are aware of its presence.

Get a mentor. Most successful people in the world get a mentor or a coach. They could be an investor who is successful already. They could be anyone who has done this and you have access to them. It is really important that you have someone to talk to who will help you stay on the path you have chosen until you reach your goal.

Keep learning! Go back to school, read, get some formal training and acquire new skills.
Isn’t it interesting that once you are out of school you can more readily appreciate the joy of learning something new. What have you learned today?

Success usually starts with these two ingredients: perseverance and hard work. They always pay off so never give up.
Time and energy spent on doing something that you are passionate about isn’t really work anyway.

Pay attention to the details. This does not mean micro-managing. You can be aware of the small facts and daily minutia without letting them overwhelm you.
It is better to learn from these details and respond by making adjustments than to ignore them until they become a crisis.

Focus your talents, time and resources. Just as a laser can cut through any material when it is focussed, so will your focus cut through any distraction. Keep yourself from being distracted by anything that will not help you attain your goals.

Ask yourself “What would I do if I knew I would succeed?” What new things would you institute that would set you apart from everyone else? If you have an innovative idea follow it!

Take the time to ask yourself a very pointed question – “Is this the best use of my time?” If you can answer with a very honest “yes” then continue on in the direction that you were going. Otherwise, a course correction is necessary.

Associate only with positive, focused people who you can learn from and who will not drain your valuable energy with complaining and uninspiring attitudes. By developing relationships with those committed to constant improvement and the pursuit of the best that life has to offer, you will have plenty of company on your path to the top of whatever mountain you seek to climb.

The most powerful concept of success is not a secret. In fact there is no secret concept to success. In my own life and career I owe my accomplishments not to any secrets but to powerful yet simple strategies like the ones mentioned above. I encourage you to take action so that you too may have your goals and success.
